The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of running a nepotistic and irresponsible administration that prioritizes his hometown of Ede over the rest of the state.
In a press statement issued on Friday, the APC said Governor Adeleke has “adopted lies as policies” and criticized what it called his failure to deliver on promises, including the recruitment of teachers, despite repeated announcements.
The statement, signed by Mogaji Kola Olabisi, Osun APC Director of Media and Information, questioned the governor’s claim that he serves the aspirations of all Osun residents, arguing that his administration has disproportionately focused on development projects in Ede North and Ede South local government areas.
According to the APC, roads connecting Ede to Awo Junction, Ara Junction, Ido-Osun, the state secretariat at Abere, and Akoda Junction have either been dualised or are undergoing rapid dualisation, while other towns, including the state capital Osogbo, have seen little comparable attention.
The party further alleged that Governor Adeleke is constructing an airport near his residence in the Aisu area of Ede, in defiance of a Federal Government directive prohibiting the relocation of Ido-Osun Airport.
“The Adeleke administration would go down in history as the worst in Osun, as it is inhuman and inconsiderate to use state resources meant for 30 local government areas to develop only two,” the APC statement said.
The party said it anticipates a change in leadership following the 15th August, 2026 governorship election, when APC candidate Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) is expected to take office, promising what it described as a more “astute, brilliant, workaholic, and forward-looking” administration.
The APC concluded that the state public is “fed up” with what it described as Governor Adeleke’s barrage of lies and the avoidable challenges confronting his administration due to a lack of adherence to the rule of law.
