Kebbi State Government has restated its commitment to sustaining support for security agencies in their operations against banditry and insurgency across the state.
The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Yakubu Birnin Kebbi, disclosed this on Friday while receiving the Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Isma’il Gusau, in Birnin Kebbi.
He said the administration had been providing logistics, allowances, and intelligence support to security operatives and pledged that such interventions would continue.
“The government will not relent in backing security agencies with the necessary resources to ensure peace and stability in our state,” the commissioner said.
Birnin Kebbi also called on the Defence Headquarters to convene a town hall meeting involving traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth groups, and community heads to strengthen intelligence-sharing and enhance community participation in security operations.
In his remarks, Brig. Gen. Gusau explained that his visit was to assess military-media collaboration in Kebbi and across the North-West. He commended Governor Nasir Idris for his continued support to security agencies, which, he said, had contributed to restoring calm in communities previously affected by insecurity.
